Marilyn Monroe said it best! And this right here is power in a bottle. I initially wanted this perfume because of its adorable packaging so I could display it on my dresser. But ended up falling in love with its empowering and elegant scent. It has warm floral key notes of Tuberose, Jasmine, and Tonka Bean.
In a collection of perfumes, there’s always that one go to scent that you can wear for every occasion. This is my when in doubt perfume! Because it doesn’t smell like your typical perfume. It is bold and beautiful, freshly light and moodily dark. It is potent so one spray goes a long way. If you want to try something different and add a little glamour to your dresser do give this a try.
4) Daisy by Marc Jacobs
Now, this is an iconic award-winning feminine perfume, a must have for any collection. It’s a long time favourite that has stood the test of time. A great and safe choice, that ensures a sea of compliments. This perfume smells exactly as it looks, like a field of daisies. It has a sweet fruity-floral scent because of the strawberry, red grapefruit, violet, and vanilla notes. Perfect for every occasion, not overpowering.
This perfume has had a permanent spot on my vanity for ten years now. It’s literally sunshine in a bottle. And the adorable bottle cap just makes it that much more irresistible. You cannot go wrong with this choice.
3) Coco Mademoiselle by Coco Chanel

This quote could not be more accurate. If sexy had a scent, this is it! Even the flirtatious commercials for Coco Mademoiselle reveal the essence of this perfume. It oozes with sensuality. With a unique and mysterious blend of Vibrant Orange, Grasse Jasmine, and May Rose; with finishing touches of Patchouli and Vetiver.
This was my first Christmas gift from my husband, ten years ago, when we started dating. So you can imagine the sentiments that come with this scent. I remember using this perfume only on special occasions because I didn’t want to run out. He gifted this perfume set again this Christmas ending the decade with the same gift that started it. This perfume is every girl’s dream in a bottle.
2) Mon Paris by Yves Saint Laurent
Elegance in the form of a perfume bottle. I got the Mon Paris gift set for our wedding anniversary and I couldn’t believe my nose (go ahead laugh, that was pretty funny). Not only is the packaging of this bottle gorgeous and luxurious, its aroma is what you’d imagine Paris-the city of love to smell like if it was turned into a perfume. It has a sophisticated sweet-floral scent, with notes of strawberry, raspberry, pear, white peony, and the exotic white datura flower.
This long lasting perfume exudes sophistication and femininity, captivating your senses. Mon Paris has been my go to perfume for special occasions, and I’ve received the most amount of compliments when wearing this perfume. It is a forever favourite and has earned a special place on my vanity. This is a must have!
1) Un Jardin Sur Le Nil by Hermes
It was quite difficult choosing my ultimate favourite scent for the year. So I went with one that had the most sweetest memories and compliments attached to it. The award goes to Un Jardin Sur Le Nil by Hermes, translated as A Garden on the Nile. It was released back in 2005, but I only received this perfume set for the first time in July, 2019 as a birthday gift.
I am a fan of all the unisex scents by Hermes, but this is by far the most unique one. It has been my go to- summer scent, and has been a burst of joy in the winter. It smells exactly as it sounds. A clean, fresh, garden scent mixed with notes of lotus flower, grapefruit, sweet mango, and hints of exotic incense and woody notes. It’s an interesting blend of aromas and maybe because it is so different than anything I’ve had that it is my top favourite.
